The air bags or passive safety features are designed to help protect riders in case of a shock front, because immediately inflate and absorb the energy of the pilot, which attenuates the force of impact. They are made of the same materials as those of cars: nylon, a coating of silicon and filled with nitrogen gas.
The module and the airbag control unit are arranged above the gas tank. It has four crash sensors mounted on the sides of the front wheel.
For its part, the ECU (electronic control unit) of the airbag constantly monitors the data received from the crash sensors and compares the performance parameters of the bike. The ECU, through electronic signal, it determines whether to deploy the airbag. It also has a diagnostic function to detect flaws in the system.
